I didn't anticipate finding myself in a position to request the service of Hoyes, Michalos & Associates. Initially I had difficulty finding a reputable agency who could assist me, not take advantage. I met with Brett who was of great help in navigating me through my options. I also met with Brennan who provided 2x clear, direct and short presentations to set me up with tools for success. I feel as though I'm in great hands.

I had loan sharks and banks that I have been banking with for so long shut doors in my face and not help me with even a consolidation loan to pay off my debts. The staff at the Hamilton location was very helpful. They were patience with me and presented me with various options to help resolve my debt problem! Thanks to covid and being off work I managed to get myself caught up in some debt trying to keep up with my bills. I did some google research and came across info on a consumer proposal on hoyes, michalos website. The word "bankruptcy" was terrifying to me and I really didn't know what it meant. Just knew it as something bad that ruined your credit score and that they would take my car away. Which is not true at all. Ted and Meg were amazing at explaining my options and how everything works and calming all my anxieties. They did not judge me once. They were completely understanding of my situation and they genuinely cared about helping me get back on track with my finances.
I didn't loose my car (LOL), my credit isn't ruined forever and my debt will be paid in 3-5 years with no interest on it !! I now have the extra money for gas or to buy a snack at the store if I want too or not question if i can afford to buy myself a coffee in the morning on my way to work. I'm not constantly under stress worrying about having my bills paid on time and working crazy over time hours draining myself physically and mentally. I'm not worrying about if my car breaks down if I will be able to afford to fix it or not. Things that no person working 40 hours a week should ever have to worry about because you're just trying to live life and keep your head above water.
I highly recommend contacting these people if you have that stress in your life, you will not be judged and life will be so much better and a lot less stressful.
